Discover Technology and Teamwork as One

A HANDS ON STUDENT PROJECT

Under the umbrella of MAKE Projects in the EPFL, the EPFL Racing Team is among the biggest scale projects made on campus. For the members of the team, Formula Student is an excellent way to put into practice everything learned in theoretical courses during the many semesters of their university careers. These students are either designing systems from scratch or improving systems tested on previous cars. From software to hardware, each part is made to perform best on track. These single seaters being composed of numerous complex interconnected systems, this project is highly interdisciplinary and brings students from many engineering specialties together. By the end of their experience as part of the EPFL Racing Team, every member gains key practical and theoretical skills through building the engineering marvels that these race cars are!

VEGA

It is with immense pride that we unveil Vega, our latest creation in the pursuit of engineering excellence. This year, we prioritized reliability and mastery, channelling our efforts into refining every element of the car while building on and optimizing the technologies that defined the previous generation.

The name “Vega” is inspired by the brightest star in the Lyra constellation, a celestial beacon symbolizing guidance, brilliance, and innovation. Just as Vega has been a point of reference for astronomers for centuries, our car aims to shine as a testament to the hard work, creativity, and determination of our team.

For our Formula Student team, Vega represents more than just a car; it embodies our passion, perseverance, and drive to push the boundaries of what’s possible. Every curve, component, and system reflects countless hours of design, testing, and improvement by a united team committed to achieving greatness.

We can’t wait to see Vega light up the track this season. Stay tuned for the journey ahead!
